Burners Briquettes: Our Story

Richard Carter Ltd, Shovel and hand tool manufacturer, have been wood turning since 1740 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire.

These briquettes are made from the shavings created in our wood turning division where we only use kiln dried hardwoods - making these briquettes particularly high in energy and exceptionally clean burning due to their low moisture content.

They are formed with pressure only - there are no additives or binding agents, just good old force and a fair chunk of power.

Because we're from Yorkshire, we did not fancy paying to power the 50kWh motor. So we invested in enough solar panels to run the machinery when the sun is shining.....allowing us boast that these briquettes really are as carbon neutral as possible.
